On 18th June 2008 the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated two cases for violations of the Federal Law «On Protection of Competition».
The first case was initiated against the «Yakutsk Airport» State Unitary Enterprise for violating Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law «On Protection of Competition», the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Informatisation of the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic and the «Yakutsk Airport» State Unitary Enterprise for violating Part 1 Article 16 of the same law, and the President of the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic for violating Part 1 Article 16 of the antimonopoly law.
Violations:
- the «Yakutsk Airport» State Unitary Enterprise exercised the actions which can restrict competition on the market of air transportation of passengers on the Moscow-Yakutsk-Moscow route and (or) infringe the interests of other economic entities;
- the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Informatisation of the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic and the «Yakutsk Airport» State Unitary Enterprise concluded agreements or exercised concerted actions that lead or may lead to preventing, restricting or eliminating competition by restricting the access to the market of air transportation Moscow-Yakutsk-Moscow route, and exiting the market of removing ãî «INTERAVIA» Airline» Ltd. from the market;
- the President of the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic undertook actions that that lead or may lead to preventing, restricting or eliminating competition by unreasonably obstructing economic activities of «INTERAVIA» Airline» Ltd.
The case is scheduled on 28th August 2008.
The second case was initiated against «Saratov Airlines» OJSC for violating Part 1 Article 10 of the Federal Law «On Protection of Competition». The company violated the law by exercising the actions which can restrict competition on the market of air transportation of passengers on the Moscow-Saratov-Moscow route and (or) infringe the interests of other economic entities.
FAS Russia plant to hear the case on 7th August 2008.
